My interest in mythology dates back many years. As an artist I have strong imagination. I have always imagined the strange creatures from the Bulgarian mythology. Those are the samodivas, samovilas, judas, mermaids, dragons and giants. Except in Bulgarian folk art, they exist in the poetry of the Bulgarian symbolists - Teodor Trajanov, Nikolay Liliev, Kiril Hristov. I was equally impressed by their poetry and by all other materials about mythology. Gradually I moved from making music based on original texts and poetry by the symbolists to writing my own poetry, which I do not deny is strongly influenced by the beauty of the language of these poets and by the unique Bulgarian mythology.

Those were the premises of making the "Omana" album, which is also the title of one of the songs. I composed the music based on an original folk poem, which is actually a love spell.

I haven't met the name "Omana" as a woman's name before. But the interesting part is that after I released the album and the video was shown on TV, some people named their newborn daughters Omana.

In fact Omana is a plant, a herb which is used to heal breast illnesses. It is also used to make spells. The oman is black and white. Black is used for making death spells and the white is for love spells.

In the winter of 1993 I accidentally met Ivan Lechev. Then I sang an old version of "Omana". He heard it and said he liked it very much and he was surprised to even hear such a thing. Some time later I found the money to record my own album and I called Ivan to offer him to work on the arrangement of all the songs.

I was very happy when he agreed, because for a young musician like me it is very important to work with such a talented professional. During the recording of the album I enjoyed the support of Ivan's father - Prof. Boian Lechev and the other members of the band "FSB" - Roumen Boiadjiev, Ivailo Kraichovski. Ivailo also worked as a tone-operator of the album.

An interesting thing happened when we were recording the song "Mitana". The song has a Rhodope sounding and Ivan got the brilliant idea to imitate a bagpipe, imposing the sound of seven electric guitars. We recorded each one separately and at the end we got a really amazing sound.

The violins he recorded for the songs "My Sisters" and "Devoiko" also sounded great. After all, before becoming a rock musician to his father's horror, Ivan was a violin player.

Recently we have been working with Ivan on a contemporary remix of the song "Omana" and we have the shooting of a very interesting music video coming up.
